SCHS celebrated an exciting homecoming week. This year's theme was SCHS Goes Global. Our students had various dress-up days, cafeteria activities, and competed in relays, On Friday, the SCHS Student Council hosted our annual homecoming parade with an amazing 32 centuries. The festivities ended with the crowning of this year's queen, Cindy Solis.

The night of Halloween Student Council handed out candy and little toys at the square . We dressed up in costumes and had a great night seeing all the kids dressed up in there great costumes. It was a big success. Student Council hosted a teacher luncheon. This was an opportunity to show the faculty and staff how thankful-we are for everything they do. We provided chili and several delicious desserts. They seemed to really enjoy it
Student Council had their monthly meeting and the theme was Halloween costumes. We discussed trick o' treat on the square and TASC conference. We would like to thank Ms.Pinson at the fly for the pizza. It was a great meeting.

Student Council attended a luncheon at the Blue Ribbon. The author of a book about the Titanic spoke to a large number of local groups. We would like to thank the library board for offering us tickets. A Fun Run was held on Saturday that hosted by the Police Benevolent Society. Student Council and Criminal Justice gladly volunteered to help. We created signs and brought pom poms and clappers to cheer on all the participants. It was a big success but next year we hope to have a larger cheering section.
The Butterfly Festival was held at the Fly Arts Center. They had many activities such as the butterfly release for kids and children's crafts. There were refreshments and delicious food. SCHS Art Society displayed artwork there. Student Council and Spanish club enjoyed volunteering in this year's festival.
SCHS Renaissance Team, Student council and teachers teamed up Friday morning to greet students with high fives and smiles. As they arrived we also cheered them on. Everyone seemed to enjoy High Five Friday. It was a big success. We hope to continue this and continue to make SCHS a great welcoming school.

This month Stu Co met with a galaxy theme to get ready for the big event of Homecoming. The homecoming theme this year is "SCHS Goes Global", and with relays, a parade, and powderpuff football in the works the council has a lot to get ready for. The council also discussed the upcoming volunteer days at the Butterfly Festival and for the Police Fun Run. The council is working with Renaissance to participate in this Friday's high five greetings at the door. Stu Co would like to welcome all the new freshman members of the group. The icebreaker at the meeting involved get to know you bingo and members are eager to participate and start working towards school and community involvement for the year. It was Back to School theme at the first meeting of Student Council. Members were treated to some kindergarten snacks and tried to figure out how to untie themselves in teams. Business was mainly about the start of the year and voting that still needs to be done. Teacher appreciation sign ups, snack sign ups, and a sign up for working at the Butterfly Festival were all popular before members left. The officers showed a video about camp and everyone was reminded to keep up with their points. Homecoming is on the horizon and student council is ready for a stellar time.
